Answer: Giving something back to someone and then taking it back is a Shariah-recommended act. Therefore, even if the person asking for it thought it was a gift and gave it to him as a gift, once it has been given as a gift and handed over to him, it is not appropriate to take it back. However, if he takes it and there is no Shariah prohibition, it will not be forbidden for him.
کسی کو کوئی چیز واپس دینا اور پھر واپس لینا شرعاً مستحسن عمل ہے۔ لہٰذا اگر مانگنے والے نے اسے ہدیہ سمجھ کر اسے تحفہ کے طور پر دے دیا تو بھی ایک بار اسے بطور تحفہ دے کر اس کے حوالے کر دیا جائے تو اسے واپس لینا مناسب نہیں۔ البتہ اگر وہ اسے لے اور اس میں کوئی شرعی ممانعت نہ ہو تو یہ اس کے لیے حرام نہیں ہوگی۔
